Got Hacked? is operated by SafetyNet Cyber Security Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 35 668 801 198). This explains what we collect when you use the Recovery Kit, why, and who else sees it.

What we never collect

Passwords, login codes and backup codes. We never ask for them and you should never send them, to us or anyone else.

What we collect

  • Your email address and order details from Shopify when you buy: your name, order number and what you bought. Card details go to Shopify and its payment processors, never to us.
  • Your progress in the Kit: your answers to its questions, where you are up to, and the attempt log you keep, so it follows you to any device.
  • What you tell us in a Case Review form, a one-on-one application or an email.
  • Your messages to Jay, our AI assistant, which are sent to OpenAI to produce Jay's replies.
  • Technical information: your IP address and browser, used for security, sign-in and to stop abuse of our forms.
  • Usage information: which pages and steps you view and which buttons you tap, through PostHog analytics, so we can see where the Kit is confusing and fix it.

Why

To give you the products you bought, sign you in, send the reminders you ask for, answer your Case Review or application, keep the service secure, and improve it. We only email you about your purchase, your sign-in, reminders you request, and replies to things you send us. We do not sell your information.

Who else handles it

  • Shopify, for checkout and orders.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the Kit, stores its data, sends its emails and runs its bot checks.
  • OpenAI, for Jay's replies.
  • PostHog, for usage analytics.

Some of these companies store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers with strong security, and we share only what each needs to do its job.

Cookies and storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in and to remember which of our sites you came through, and your browser's storage to keep your progress on your device. PostHog uses cookies and browser storage to count visits.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have access to a product, and for a reasonable time afterwards for our records and legal obligations. Ask and we will delete what we do not need to keep.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct what we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, at kit@gothacked.com.au. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
